Tendered Contracts

With a projected construction cost of over $1 billion, the Wuskwatim Generating Station and related Transmission Project is one of the largest construction projects currently underway in Manitoba.  Most of the work will be awarded through open tenders to qualified contractors. A variety of tendering opportunities will be available for bid as they are required over the six-year project life span.  Some contracts needed for initial parts of the project have already been awarded.

WPLP has no direct role for issuing contracts, since these are being handled by Manitoba Hydro.  Information on Wuskwatim contract tendering is available on the Manitoba Hydro Tendering Opportunities web page, including a designated contact for each tender.

Direct-negotiated Contracts with NCN

In addition to open tenders, there are a number of direct-negotiated contracts valued at about $100 million for qualified NCN businesses or joint-venture partnerships.

These include:

  • Access road contract
  • Security contract
  • Catering contract
  • Cross-cultural training and on-site counselling contract
  • Main camp sewer and water contract
  • Site preparation contract
  • Transmission-line clearing contract.
